About the role:

We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our algorithmic trading company at a pivotal time as we undertake a comprehensive infrastructure redesign. This role focuses on building a streamlined, modern infrastructure that minimizes maintenance efforts while supporting the demands of high-performance, low-latency trading systems.

Key Responsibilities: 

Infrastructure Redesign and Optimization

• Collaborate on the design and implementation of a robust, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure for trading operations.
• Focus on reducing the operational overhead of maintaining systems through automation, simplification, and best practices.
• Maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.

Deployment and Automation

• Develop and refine deployment processes to support seamless system updates and feature rollouts.
• Work on automation initiatives to eliminate repetitive tasks and enhance system efficiency.

Monitoring and Reliability

• Establish systems to monitor the performance and reliability of critical trading infrastructure(e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Identify and resolve potential issues proactively to ensure uninterrupted trading operations.

Collaboration Across Teams

• Align with development, trading, and operations teams to align infrastructure goals with system requirements.
• Provide support and insight into ongoing improvements and future scalability needs.

Security and Compliance: Contribute to security and compliance measures to ensure infrastructure meets regulatory and operational standards.

Design, develop, and maintain Python scripts and applications to automate operational tasks and manage infrastructure 

Build robust backend services, APIs, and microservices that integrate seamlessly with DevOps workflows 

Implement unit tests and contribute to code reviews, ensuring the high quality of Python-based code 

Maintenance and Support: Maintain and support the existing codebase, ensuring that it remains robust, efficient, and up-to-date as our projects evolve.

Skills: 

Experience:

• 1-3 years in a DevOps, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced or fintech environment.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts, deployment workflows, and system optimization.
• Experience with designing scalable, reliable, and automated systems.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, NodeRED, Airflow, Nomad or similar.
• Hands-on experience with PaaS solutions

Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior involvement in redesigning or overhauling infrastructure with a focus on maintainability and efficiency.
• Understanding of high-performance computing or financial systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with Python
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git 
• Ability to plan and pursue a development project autonomously 
• Previous experience in a production environment with high scalability and reliability requirements 
• Knowledge of other scripting or backend languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go, Ruby) 
• System Design and Prototyping: Experience in designing and prototyping scalable and maintainable systems, with an eye for clean architecture and best practices.
