Position Overview: The Technical Authority Electrical Engineering/Power Distribution Systems (HV/LV) will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the engineering, design and reliability of electrical equipment and associated systems and is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of power distribution systems in offshore oil and gas projects. This role will work with the Global Expert Group to build company electrical engineering standards for worldwide operations and projects. The position will also provide support to bids and project tenders. The position requires extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly in offshore environments, and a strong understanding of relevant legislation and international standards. The engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to support project and business needs, ensuring that all electrical systems meet the highest standards of safety and performance. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support for new projects, including equipment selection, design reviews, and commissioning activities. Provide critical technical and commercial impact on large projects. Critical impact on development of (future) knowledge within own discipline and within Company. Provide deep, comprehensive understanding of electrical disciplines and relevant interfaces with other disciplines. Able to analyze extremely complex interdependent systems or business situations. Combines complex scenarios with thorough calculations to determine optimal solutions. Serves as technical/ commercial back up for Sales staff for proposals and development projects. Organizes and secures knowledge in own discipline. Pro-actively shares best practice, ideas, and insights with colleagues. Develops (senior) staff in his\her discipline. Is frequently consulted by colleagues for information and on-the-job demonstrations. Spreads new knowledge and insights within Company. Oversees consequences of new technical developments for Offshore Group as a whole and translates this into plans for the board. Owner of company’s technical standards, which set the minimum technical requirements for equipment, systems and products. Lead development and continuous improvement of company’s technical standards, specifications and other engineering documents, methods and tools in his own discipline, through collaboration with asset operations team and management of the lessons learnt database. Sets new guidelines for discipline. Identify opportunities for process and design improvements within own discipline and implement solutions to enhance equipment performance and reliability. Provide a deep knowledge of industry rules, standards, design codes, practices and guidelines related to own discipline. Monitors and addresses changes in procedures, regulations, and standards. Recommend and implement improvements to existing policies, standards, and regulations. Perform verification activities to ensure compliance with technical design and operational requirements. Lead or participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, investigations, root cause analysis or troubleshooting efforts for equipment/system failures and performance issues. Optional: submits (technical) papers for seminars or conferences. Qualifications: At least Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 15 years’ experience in electrical engineering of offshore Oil & Gas facilities, to include FPSOs. Expert level experience in power systems engineering of FPSOs. Licensed Professional Engineer or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a leadership role.
