(Senior) Account Manager


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Account Manager to drive business development and sales across the African continent within the B2B dairy sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional relationship management skills, and the ability to align global teams to deliver customer success. The ideal candidate is fluent in French and English, thrives in an international environment, and has a passion for creating value in complex, dynamic markets in Africa. Key Responsibilities 1. Sales Performance and Targets Drive sales to achieve and exceed assigned targets, ensuring sustained business growth across the African continent. Collaborate with internal teams to align on sales objectives and identify innovative approaches to achieve results. Use data-driven insights to optimize sales strategies and performance metrics. Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation and qualification to closing deals and maintaining customer relationships. Identifies market opportunities within customer/supplier scope for him/herself as well as others in the commercial organization. Optimizes deals by strong negotiating skills 2. Strategic Customer Development Develop and execute strategic customer plans, focusing on building strong relationships, growing market presence, and achieving long-term success. Partner with customers to align their goals with the Interfood value proposition (s), fostering mutual growth and trust. Understand customer pain points and provide tailored solutions that deliver exceptional value. Enhance the Interfood market presence by representing the brand at key customer meetings, trade fairs, and industry events. Maintain and grow relationships with key customers and suppliers, leveraging networks to create long-term business opportunities 3. Stakeholder Engagement Proactively engage internal teams worldwide to align resources, strategies, and efforts with customer journeys, ensuring sales success and customer satisfaction. Build trust and credibility with both internal and external stakeholders through clear communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution. Actively listen to all perspectives to find balanced, win-win solutions that benefit the company and its partners. 4. Ownership and Team work Take ownership of the African markets, acting as a proactive leader and go-to expert for internal teams and external partners. Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to (junior) colleagues, supporting team and individual development. Demonstrate accountability by taking calculated risks, solving customer challenges, and exceeding expectations. Initiates innovative ideas / opportunities / structures to the team. What We’re Looking For Languages: Fluent in French and English (written and spoken). Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in account management, business development, or sales, ideally in the B2B or commodity sectors. Experience in the African market and/or the dairy sector is a strong advantage. Skills: Proven expertise in stakeholder engagement, closing sales, strategic planning, and conflict resolution. Ability to provide actionable market insights and lead data-driven decision-making. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Mindset: Results-oriented, proactive, and committed to exceeding expectations. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel across the African continent to engage with clients and stakeholders.
