Field Service Engineer Lighting Systems (Dutch Speaking)

About the Role Are you passionate about cutting-edge LED lighting technology and eager to make an impact in the horticultural industry? As a Field Application Engineer , you will play a vital role in the quality assurance, installation, and technical support of Greenhouse LED Lighting Systems, primarily for the Agrolux brand within Hawthorne GC . You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including international R&D, sales, and quality, ensuring smooth installations, optimal system performance, and high customer satisfaction. This role is based in Oude-Meer, Netherlands , with frequent travel across the Netherlands and internationally to visit customers, suppliers, and company sites. What Success Looks Like in This Role Seamless installation and commissioning of LED lighting systems at customer sites Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving for technical challenges High customer satisfaction through proactive support and clear communication Contribution to product improvements based on field insights Strong collaboration with R&D , sales, and technical support teams Key Responsibilities On-Site Installation & Commissioning: Oversee and execute lighting system installations, ensuring seamless setup and operation. Support customers and installers with troubleshooting and commissioning. Product Handover: Own the transition of new lighting systems from technical field support team to the Customer. Technical Support & Customer Interaction: Assist sales teams and interact directly with customers to provide technical expertise, troubleshooting, and after-sales support. Acceptance Testing & Quality Assurance: Define and execute acceptance testing protocols with customers and/or installers to ensure system performance. Training & Education: Provide training sessions for team members, installers, and customers on Agrolux products and technologies. Product & Service Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement in Agrolux products and services and provide input for future developments. Technical Documentation: Contribute to the development of manuals, datasheets, and other technical materials. Industry Events & Trade Shows: Occasionally represent the company at trade shows and events to support product awareness and customer engagement. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Control & Automation Engineering Experience: 5+ years of experience in controls, electrical troubleshooting, product development, or testing Hands-on experience with PLC installation & commissioning (not necessarily in lighting) Familiarity with Power Line Communications (PLC), Modbus, and BACnet integration Proficiency in using electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, etc.) Bonus: Experience in horticulture and/or lighting is a plus Basic understanding of single-phase & three-phase power systems Skills & Abilities: Strong customer focus with excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines Strong data organization and presentation skills Comfortable working in cross-functional teams Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken & written) Willingness to travel frequently (Netherlands & international) What We Offer Stock Purchase Program – Buy company stock at a 15% discount Pension Contribution – Secure your future with a company-supported plan Commuter Allowance – Travel reimbursement for distances >10km 28 Paid Holidays – More than the industry average!
