Financial Reporting Accountant

We are currently on a look out for a Financial Accountant I Financial Controller What will you be doing? To support the growth, Nedstar is looking for a full time Financial Accountant / Financial Controller who will complement the existing ambitious finance team. You will be responsible for creating and organizing the planning and control cycle, which includes closing process, treasury & cashflow management, audit process and the annual report. Furthermore you be working on the management reporting, budgeting, financial performance, and compliance and risk management. Moreover, you will be providing financial and operational advice to the CFO (as well as other members of management), Trade, and Logistics personnel. Specific tasks include: Create timely and accurate periodically financial closings and statements, such as balance sheets, cash flow statements, income statements, yearly (audited) accounts, and accounts; Sparring partner for management, traders and other colleagues on financial and strategic decision making; Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory norms and Dutch GAAP. Provide management with KPI analyses and management reports on a regular basis; Act as first point of contact (incl. relationship management) of external suppliers like banks, (credit) insurers, brokers, auditors, advisors and governmental organizations; Manage financial software systems and make recommendations for updates, installations, and enhancements, focusing on ERP enhancements and reporting tools; Management of Accounts Payable and Receivable; Collaborate with external tax consultants to maximize the business's tax position and guarantee tax observance; Knowledge of banking structures, credit insurance, liquidity forecasting, risk management, foreign exchange risk management, and/or other aspects typical of a trading company. What are we looking for? Competencies: Entrepreneurial & Commercially mindset; Strong sense of accountability (ownership); Teamwork; Collaborative and influential; Organizational awareness; Dealing with details; Ability and desire to work with as well as have an awareness of different cultures, personalities and working styles; Languages: English required, Dutch strongly preferred. Other languages (esp. French, German, Portuguese) a benefit; Drive to become part of the ambitious, young and enthusiastic Nedstar team. Profile: ~ BA or equivalent with emphasis in (business) management or economics. RC (or RA) considered a plus, with strong emphasis on business/ commercial; ~3-7 years minimum relevant (international) business experience (covering B2B, commodity trading, import/ export, distribution); ~ Strong Accounting Knowledge (e.g. Dutch GAAP). Ongoing awareness of changes external to the department and translates these into related changes, processes and practices including consolidation of foreign entities; ~ Experience with foreign exchange risk management & hedging, liquidity forecasting, risk management, Credit Insurance etc, banking structures and/ or other elements which are characteristic of a Trading firm; ~ IT and Tech minded, looking for opportunities to operates as efficient as possible based on current (ERP) and developing technologies (AI).
