Translation Technologist

Our prestigious client is an Independent nonprofit organisation in the educational sector. They have a vibrant international office in the centre of Amsterdam.

We are recruiting for a brand new, newly created position of Translation Technologis t. This role will play a leading role in the development of new translation and translation verification procedures to modernise these approaches within the organisation. This is a highly complex technical function within the company with some key responsibilities as follows:

• Develop and integrate translation memories and glossaries into the workflow.
• Advise on the integration of machine and generative translation models.
• Develop best practice recommendations for translation work.
• Lead on research projects to investigate new procedures and technologies for verifying translations.
• Monitor new developments in the field of translation.
• And so much more................................

We are looking for candidates who are already living and working in the Netherlands and within easy commuting distance of Amsterdam. Hopefully you fit most of the following profile:

• You have an advanced University Degree in Translation Technology or Computational Linguistics or Information Technology.
• You have experience and knowledge of the application of information technology to translation.
• You are highly comfortable discussing system capabilities with Programmers.
• You have excellent communication skills especially in the English language.
• You are a collaborative team player.
